nessa restaurant

nessa, an authentic italian eatery

There is something quite seductive about the smell of fresh basil. When you rub it onto your hands, the oils from the herb stay with you. In our opinion this simplicity of thought has created our success. It lead us to hand pound our pesto every morning, with only the best extra virgin olive oil, roasted pignoli nuts, and imported reggiano cheese. A great piece of bread topped with our pesto, and paired with a great Italian Barollo is in our opinion what life is all about. These little things make us smile.

We find something quite profound about sharing integrous food, laughter, and wine, with our family and friends; it has become our life’s goal. Our family has grown to thousands of customers. It is why we will go to any lengths to give our patrons only the best; they expect it from us.

We were, for some time, looking for a great place to bring our sense of style, our sensitivity for food, and great music. Having been in business for over three decades in Manhattan, and the Bronx, we wanted to find a pioneering city or village, one that in our opinion was on the brink of greatness. With that, we found a home for an idea we call nessa right in the Village of Port Chester.

In 2006 it was apparent that there would be a revitalization of Port Chester, entrepreneurs and the local government was changing the landscape here. We knew that Port Chester, being nestled between Greenwich, Connecticut and Rye, New York would be a great home for us to launch nessa.

The building we now call home is at 325 North Main Street in Port Chester, directly across from the original Lifesaver Factory, now a Landmark property. Our property needed immense reparation; hence we spent the better part of seven months in a complete renovation. We hired several construction companies and also relied on the sweat and know how of our friends and family. It was a Herculean task ripping the property to its four walls, renovating all aspects of its infrastructure and then completely redesigning to our vision. In the end, we created what we feel is the sexiest environment in all of Port Chester.

We had an opening marketing plan complete with press releases, direct mail marketing, and the like. But as it turns out, none of these were necessary. We simply opened and did what we do best. In just a few weeks our attention to great food spoke for itself. People came, returned and told others. In a short time, our reservation book is booked a week in advance.
